A well-attended public consultation event was held on Wednesday 29th September 2021 at the Dussindale Community Centre. Several reoccurring questions were received during the consultation event and Hill thought it would be beneficial to provide clarification on these points:
Planning Status
The outline planning permission, which was approved in January 2019, has established the principle of development and access into the site, meaning that up to 300 homes are able to be built at the site. Hill will submit a reserved matters application which seeks approval for the layout, scale, appearance and landscaping of the residential development and the landscaping and layout of the community woodland only.
Residential Development Area
The residential area is confined to the north of Plumstead Road East, as shown in grey on the ‘Community Woodland’ consultation board (third consultation board above). The remaining area is retained as community woodland in perpetuity.
Healthcare and Education
Whilst the approved Section 106 agreement did not secure contributions towards healthcare and education, the development will make a significant financial contribution of circa £2m (to be confirmed based on the final design) towards the Community Infrastructure Levy, which will provide funding to be spent on local infrastructure enhancements.
Management of Community Woodland
The management of the community woodland will be funded by the residents of the new private housing. The management of the community woodland will continue in perpetuity and be delivered by a management company.
